Job summary

Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates, IL, seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform patient exams, optimize image quality, and support PACS submissions within a regulated clinical setting.

Position involves rotating shifts including PRN and overnights, with required ARRT/ARDMS credentials within 12 months and BLS within 30 days of hire. A high school diploma with experience or an Associate/Technical degree qualifies.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Conduct patient exams using ultrasound waves, identifying and interpreting anatomical structures, pathology, and artifacts while ensuring high-quality image capture.
• Set up and adjust equipment, ensure proper functionality, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform necessary safety/tag-out procedures.
• Implement safety protocols, maintain regulatory compliance, and uphold departmental cleanliness in procedure rooms and storage areas.
• Perform routine and complex imaging studies, manage PACS submissions, and ensure all patient data and lead markers are accurate and complete.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.
