Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Mason City, IA is hiring a Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, and small parts, with duties supporting radiologists and hospital staff. The role offers a day shift on a full-time basis and a sign-on bonus up to $20,000.

Candidates must be ARDMS registered (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or board-eligible with registration within one year of hire. BLS is required within 30 days of hire and every two years thereafter.

Qualifications

• Must be ARDMS registered with RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS or board-eligible and register within 12 months.
• Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (CME requirements).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and renewed every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related ultrasound procedures on scheduled or emergent basis.
• Provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provide technical instruction to students and hospital staff.

• Perform Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records
• Provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff

Schedule

• Weekends
• Work 2 12-hour shifts (24 hours) and get paid 36.

General RequirementsMust be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.

• Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
