Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Iowa is hiring a Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, and small parts, and to maintain related records.

The role involves assisting the radiologist, providing instruction to students and staff, and working weekends with two 12-hour shifts on a 24-hour schedule; sign-on bonus up to $20,000.

Qualifications

• Must hold ARDMS certification (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or be board-eligible with ARDMS registration within 12 months.
• Maintain ARDMS registry (30 CME hours every 3 years) and renew annual payments.
• Complete Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months and every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams (OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts) and document results.
• Assist radiologists with studies and provide instruction to students and staff.

We are looking to hire a Sonographer!

As a Sonographer at MercyOne, you will:

• Perform Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records
• Provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff

Schedule:

• Weekends
• Work 2 12-hour shifts (24 hours) and get paid 36.

General Requirements:

Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.

• Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
