Bastion Hospitality LLC is opening Le Jardinier at MFAH in Houston under Chef Alain Verzeroli. The Sommelier will lead wine service, collaborate with the Beverage Manager and Executive Chef, and guide guests through wine pairings on a vegetable-forward menu.

The ideal candidate possesses 2-5 years restaurant experience, strong English, and a passion for hospitality. Flexible schedule and long service hours are expected in this premium setting.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of restaurant experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Food handlers safety certificate preferred.
• Clear English reading and speaking ability.

Responsibilities

• Act as the ultimate ambassador of the restaurant’s cuisine and culture to our guests.
• Work with Beverage Manager and Executive Chef to create food and wine pairings.
• Assist guests during dinner with wine recommendations and wine service; decanting and pairing guidance.
• Set the stage for a memorable guest experience with prompt, attentive service and menu knowledge.
• Be energetic, enthusiastic and a role model for hospitality and staff development.
• Lead by example with attention to detail and manage the dining room staff.
