Hitachi Mobility Multimodal Solutions (HMMS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to craft technical proposals, define system architecture, and plan deployments in response to RFPs/SOWs. You will collaborate with account managers, product management, and deployment teams to shape winning solutions.

The role requires engineering background and strong PM, presentation, and communication skills; travel as needed, with a hybrid office arrangement for Long Island, NY area or travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• Engineering and / or technical background (Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred).
• 4-10 years of related systems engineering experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of system architectural principles, methods, and techniques.
• Working knowledge of communication tech and protocols (modems, routers, J1939, J1708, RS232, VoIP, Ethernet/POE, switches).
• Network knowledge including WLAN, cellular, VPN, etc.
• Hardware knowledge such as cameras, DVR, LED/LCD signs, etc.
• Public Transit / ITS experience a major plus, especially rail systems.
• Expert working in Excel, Visio, and comfortable in Word.
• Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines; organized and analytical.
• Comfortable presenting to Senior Management.
• Exceptional written, presentation, interpersonal and communications skills.
• Expert in Excel, Word, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams preferred.
• Experience with government procurement preferred.
• Ability to travel when required, work late and weekends to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud development.
• Engineering and software architecture design.
• Business analysis and project/product management.
• Strong understanding of the transit industry and ITS used in public transport.

Responsabilités

• Reads RFPs and analyzes technical requirements.
• Assigns compliance matrix and sends to product managers for responses.
• Responds to overall system requirements and reviews product manager responses.
• Evaluates system alternatives and assesses risks and costs.
• Analyzes user requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements.
• Designs the proposed solution and determines system specifications for hardware/software.
• Collaborates with product management, systems engineers, pricing, and management.
• Designs architectures to include software, hardware, and communications for current and future interfaces.
• Creates solution architecture diagrams, final customer-facing requirements, and technical descriptions.
• Maintains templates and proposal databases; stays current with industry trends.
