Job summary

Lorven Technologies Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect to support modernization for a large financial services client. You will design hybrid on-premises and cloud architectures, manage technical backlogs, and document N-tier layers while coordinating with multiple teams in a matrixed environment.

Outstanding communication and leadership are essential. The role is onshore with largely remote work and quarterly travel to Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience assessing, designing, and implementing modern applications.
• Strong communication, proven leader, highly collaborative, ability to work through design decision and trade-offs with team.
• Architecture depictions of hybrid on-premises/cloud environments.
• Technical backlog of user stories.
• Technical documentation of N-tiered layers (auth, cache, data stores, etc.).
• On-premises Java architecture familiarity, including WebSphere and integration to mainframe, DB2, and VSAM.
• On-prem to AWS Cloud migration/integration, including migration patterns (auth, middleware, data stores, event patterns, caching, telemetry) and serverless patterns.
• Background in development or data engineering, with legacy system integrations including mainframe.

Responsibilities

• Create architecture depictions of hybrid on-premises/cloud environments.
• Maintain a technical backlog of user stories.
• Document N-tiered architecture layers (auth, cache, data stores, etc.).
• Collaborate to navigate design decisions and trade-offs across multiple teams.
• Coordinate with onshore resources in a remote/matrixed environment; occasional travel to Des Moines, IA.

We are looking Solution Architects to support modernization efforts across a large FSI client. They do not need to be subject matter experts, but must be technically capable and highly collaborative — this is a matrixed environment requiring deconfliction across multiple teams and opinions, not solo design work.

Onshore resources, mainly remote work, with potential for quarterly travel to Des Moines, IA

Required Skills:

• Acting Architect with 15+ years of experience assessing, designing, and implementing modern applications

• Drive and collaborate to deliver the following:
• Architecture depictions of hybrid on-premises/cloud environments

• On-premises Java architecture familiarity, including WebSphere and integration to mainframe, DB2, and VSAM (understanding required, not necessarily hands-on development)
• On-prem to AWS Cloud migration/integration, including:
