Job summary

DNV Energy Systems’ Renewables and Power Grids group is seeking a Senior Solar Energy Analyst to join the Solar Energy Assessments team. You will provide solar resource and energy assessment services for projects across North America in a data-driven environment.

You will collaborate with analysts, develop and implement analytical tools, and contribute to high-quality technical reports while advancing DNV's solar energy methodologies and delivery QHSE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, atmospheric science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of North American solar energy experience.
• Strong knowledge of solar resource assessment, energy production modeling, and PV system operation.
• Experience conducting MCP analyses and understanding resource variability.
• Proficiency with Excel, Python, and data-analysis software.
• Experience with SolarFarmer, PlantPredict, PVcase, PVsyst, pvlib, SAM, or similar tools.
• Ability to use approved AI tools to accelerate data analysis, coding, quality checks, and drafting.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Pre-employment drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct long-term solar resource and energy production assessments for various solar projects.
• Analyze operational data, evaluate resource variability, and support bankable energy yield assessments.
• Ensure deliverable quality, document methodologies, and communicate findings to customers and project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools and software workflows to improve delivery and accuracy.
