Job summary

DNV Energy Systems’ Renewables and Power Grids group seeks a Senior Solar Energy Analyst to provide solar resource and energy assessment services for North American projects. This role emphasizes data-driven analysis and delivering bankable energy yield assessments with rigorous QA/QC.

You will work across multiple project types in a collaborative, data-driven culture, contributing to continuous improvement of solar-energy assessment methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, atmospheric science, mathematics, environmental science, or related field.
• Minimum five years North America experience in solar energy assessment.
• Strong data-analysis skills with Excel and Python.
• Experience with MCP analyses and solar resource variability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct long-term solar resource and energy production assessments for utility-scale, distributed generation, commercial & industrial, community solar, residential, and hybrid projects.
• Analyze operational production data from solar plants, evaluate resource variability, and support bankable energy yield assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, collaborate on methodologies, and communicate findings to customers.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools and software workflows to improve project delivery.
