Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Project Engineer in Fremont, CA onsite to support the development and construction of solar projects. You will work with a team to design tracker layouts, manage site data, and ensure drawings and BOMs meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include value engineering, coordinating with global designers, and updating standards while engaging with sales, PM, and R&D teams. A BS in engineering and 3–5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience on commercial or utility-scale projects.
• Thorough knowledge of drafting standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets.
• Review site information and design inputs; assist in selecting product types based on conditions.
• Coordinate with engineers in US and India; update design standards and project issues.
• Conduct value engineering to lower project costs.
• Develop new product standards and design changes with regional designers.
• Learn topography and hydrology for optimal tracker placement; prioritize tasks for customers.
