Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Fremont, CA onsite team. You will support design and engineering for utility-scale PV projects from development to construction, reporting to the Lead of Project Engineering and coordinating with global teams to develop site plans, BOMs, and construction documents.

The role emphasizes tracker layouts, CAD blocks, topography/hydrology analysis, and cost-efficient design changes to back quoting and execution.

Qualifications

BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related, preferred.
3–5 years of engineering experience supporting commercial or utility-scale projects (solar preferred).
Thorough knowledge of drafting standards and good organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; self-motivated team player.

Responsibilities

Provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets.
Review site information and design inputs to select appropriate product types.
Collaborate with engineers in India and other regions on new configurations and drafting standards.
Conduct value engineering to lower project costs.
Coordinate with designers in other regions to update product standards and resolve issues.
Learn topography and hydrology analysis to determine tracker placement.
