Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our Solar manufacturing team. You will help design, optimize, and control manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain top quality across solar panel production.

In this role you will collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance, while driving safety, quality, and cost‑reduction initiatives through data‑driven problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.
• 0–3 years engineering experience in manufacturing (including internships/co-ops).
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Experience or coursework in mechanical/electrical systems, automation, controls, programming, or equipment troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for solar panels and related products.
• Analyze production workflows to improve efficiency, throughput, quality, and waste reduction.
• Support design, testing, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and process improvements.
• Apply structured problem‑solving methodologies to resolve production issues.
• Establish and maintain process controls to ensure quality and performance specifications.
• Investigate deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
