Job summary

Pattern Energy Group is seeking an onsite Operations and Maintenance Technician for a solar power plant in Texas. You will operate and maintain PV equipment, read schematics, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to ensure reliable power production.

The role requires lifting, climbing and outdoor work in varying weather, with potential travel to other sites in the U.S. or Canada. A valid driver’s license and safety-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate or 12 months of related experience or solar industry training.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Advanced computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and reporting systems.
• Willing to work overtime, travel may be required and be on-call.
• Experience with PV equipment and safety regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain utility-scale PV power plant equipment and balance of plant.
• Read schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Inspect, repair, and modify AC and DC solar PV systems.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, compliant work.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM and Pattern Energy practices.
• Maintain site infrastructure and balance-of-plant systems.
• Collect data and prepare reports for PV plant reporting requirements.
