Job summary

Blue Sky Utility is seeking a Solar Performance Engineer to take ownership of performance monitoring, analytics, and modeling across our solar and hybrid solar+storage fleet. You will build scalable processes and tools, working directly with SCADA data, telemetry, and weather inputs to support portfolio-level decisions.

The role emphasizes autonomy, building reporting pipelines, and translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in solar performance engineering, asset management, or O&M analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Experience with PV system fundamentals and inverter/tracker knowledge.
• Experience with SCADA/DAS/historian platforms and data pull APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily/weekly performance of a portfolio of solar sites against weather-adjusted production.
• Identify underperformance at site/inverter/tracker levels using SCADA data.
• Maintain dashboards in Metabase, Power BI, or similar.
• Design alarms and monitoring tools to scale with the fleet.
