Job summary

Blue Sky Utility seeks a Solar Performance Engineer to own monitoring, analytics, and modeling for a growing fleet of utility-scale and distributed solar assets. You will work with SCADA/historian data, inverter telemetry, and weather data to drive proactive insights and scalable solutions.

You’ll build dashboards, automate reporting with Python, and develop models for P50/P90 forecasts while partnering with O&M and procurement teams to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in solar performance engineering or related analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Renewable Energy or equivalent.
• Experience with PV system fundamentals and weather-driven production.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily/weekly performance of PV sites against weather-adjusted production.
• Identify underperformance at site/inverter/tracker level with SCADA/DAS data.
• Maintain dashboards (Power BI/Metabase) for fleet health.
• Design alarms and monitoring tools for scalable operations.
• Support root-cause investigations with SQL data.
• Collaborate with O&M vendors and internal teams.
