Job summary

Sunrun is seeking a Field Performance Technician in Illinois to manage service and warranty work for residential solar systems. You will work independently and with the Performance O&M team, interacting with customers, the Branch Manager, and the central scheduling group.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience, with PV knowledge and NEC familiarity. Strong safety, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience preferred.
• PV design or PV electrical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve solar warranty and service issues for modules, inverters, monitoring and balance of system components.
• Investigate and document roof leaks with photos and observations.
• Coordinate with Construction Supervisor and Engineering to resolve redline issues.
• Receive, update and close Field Service Dispatches (FSDs) using the Service Dashboard in Salesforce.
• Ensure timely communication and completion of service and warranty work with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and refine processes and gain skills for advanced technical work as FPT2.
