Job summary

ACT Power Services, LLC is hiring a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive on-site operations at commercial and utility-scale solar plants. The role covers preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on modules, trackers, inverters, and medium-voltage equipment, with field-based duties across multiple sites.

Based in the field, you will work at customer sites, travel as needed, and participate in safety and training programs.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or a related technical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Ability to read and interpret drawings including fuses, breakers, switches, etc.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel ~20%
• FAA Part 107 certification and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections (monthly)
• Log data and maintain service reports and safety paperwork
• Dispatch and remediation on repairs under 50V as needed
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and inventory; log in Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and SharePoint
• Attend maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing training
