Job summary

ACT Power Services, LLC is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to manage safe, productive onsite operations at Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on inverters, trackers, and MV equipment, while ensuring safe work practices and continuous learning.

The role is field-based, with work at customer sites, travel to multiple sites nationwide, and participation in ongoing training and safety programs.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related trades; or completion of ACT’s Apprentice program.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off, or ability to obtain sign-off within onboarding period
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Ability to read/interpret drawings and identify fuses, breakers, switches, and BoS equipment
• Must have valid Driver's License
• Willingness to travel around 20% and work on-call during off-shift hours/weekends
• FAA Part 107 certification, a Technical Writing course, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do
• Assist in routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities
• Perform string‑level troubleshooting and tracker inspections
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections
• Clean or replace damaged components as directed
• Apply NEC code knowledge and industry best practices with ongoing education
• Perform basic electrical testing under supervision
• Dispatch and remediation on repairs under 50V
• Maintain company property, tools, and stock
• Log service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and parts data in Fiix/TrueContext/Deputy/ACT SharePoint
• Conduct and log vehicle inspections
• Initiate warranty claims with vendors/OEMs
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action
• Conduct pre-job brief analyses
• Participate in Good Catch Program and BBSO observations
• Attend maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing training
