Job summary

ACT Power Services, LLC in the United States is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to perform safe, productive on-site maintenance and repairs at Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will support preventive and corrective tasks on modules, trackers, inverters, and medium-voltage gear while advancing safety and reliability.

The role operates in the field, visiting customer sites with travel up to 20%, and may be filled externally or internally.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical or related trades.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off or ability to obtain on onboarding.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings (fuses, breakers, switches, power sources).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to travel around 20% and be on-call during off-shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repairs of solar facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly checks.
• Replace damaged components as directed and apply NEC knowledge.
• Perform basic electrical testing under supervision (IR, continuity, grounding, voltage).
• Dispatch and remediate repairs under 50V; maintain inventory and equipment.
• Log service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and parts in our systems.
• Conduct and log vehicle inspections; initiate warranty claims with vendors/OEMs.
• Attend training and participate in safety programs (Good Catch, BBSO).
