Job summary

SOLV Energy in Shelbyville, NC is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance and learn safe work practices in the solar industry. This is a contingent position with potential to transition to permanent.

The role is on-site full-time at the jobsite. You will service solar equipment under supervision, conduct basic testing, troubleshoot and replace parts as needed, and complete required reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational training a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Safety training and NFPA 70E certification preferred.
• Strong English communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field maintenance under supervision.
• Operate and care for company equipment and tooling.
• Inspect and service solar equipment across multiple plants.
• Complete required safety training and documentation.
• Respond to on‑call emergencies as directed.
• Assist in implementing process improvements.
