Job summary

Sunrun is hiring a Hybrid Field Technician to perform site assessments, surveys, and post-install inspections for residential solar projects. You’ll collect detailed measurements, assess roof and electrical conditions, and help ensure each system passes AHJ and utility requirements.

The role involves hands-on fieldwork, climbing ladders, and daily coordination with install teams, customers, and AHJs. A safety-first mindset and basic tools proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience with PV design, installation or electrical work preferred.
• Comfortable working on roofs and rooftops with ladders.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and measurement devices.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Must be 21+ with valid license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer homes to collect measurements, photos, and data for solar design.
• Assess roof conditions and electrical service panels during site surveys.
• Climb ladders and inspect roofs and attics as required.
• Submit survey data using mobile field tools in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform post-install inspections to ensure readiness for final AHJ or utility approval.
• Verify installations meet plans, workmanship, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with install teams to resolve inspection-related issues.
• Document inspection readiness with photos and checklists.
• Discuss installations with AHJ and customers; schedule inspections.
