Job summary

The Solar Field Service Technician role at ACT Power Services, LLC focuses on safe, productive onsite operations for solar PV plants. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across solar modules, trackers, inverters, and MV equipment while learning technical skills and safety practices.

Field-based with travel between sites nationwide. Candidates should have relevant solar/electrical experience, OSHA 10, QEW sign-off, and a valid driver’s license; FAA Part 107 and

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trade.
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain during onboarding.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings with identification of BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel ~20% and work on-call.
• FAA Part 107 certification, technical writing course, HV/MV training (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly checks.
• Repair or replace damaged components as directed.
• Apply NEC and electrical theory knowledge with ongoing education.
• Perform basic electrical testing (IR, continuity, grounding, voltage) under supervision.
• Dispatch and remediation for repairs under 50V; maintain tools and plant stock.
• Log service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and inventory in Fiix/TrueContext/Deputy/SharePoint.
• Conduct timely vehicle inspections and participate in pre-job brief analyses.
