Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to safely operate and optimize field maintenance on commercial and utility-scale solar PV plants. The role supports preventive and corrective maintenance on modules, trackers, inverters, and medium-voltage equipment, with focus on safety, reporting, and continuous learning.

Based remotely in the field, this position requires travel to multiple sites nationwide and participation in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trades
• QEW sign-off or ability to obtain within onboarding period
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Ability to read and interpret drawings (fuses, breakers, switches, power sources)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Valid driver’s license; able to travel ~20% and work on-call on evenings/weekends
• FAA Part 107 certification or HV training completed or in progress

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety standards in all tasks
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance
• Conduct routine site inspections and document safety and issues
• Log service reports, inspections and inventory; enter data into Fiix/Deputy/SharePoint
• Manage vehicle inspections and initiate warranty claims when needed
• Support on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance as required
