Job summary

BayWa r.e. Americas Projects & Services is seeking a Solar Field Technician to join the Operations team. You will assist with maintenance, installation, and testing of PV systems, including high- and medium-voltage equipment, while following safety practices on site.

The role requires reading blueprints and technical drawings, 3–5 years of solar field experience, and a valid driver’s license. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and a remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plan sets, and technical drawings.
• Three to five years of experience as a Utility Scale Solar Technician; Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) experience a plus.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, driving record review, and drug screening; valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist in the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment such as inverters, combiner boxes, switchgear, transformers, voltage regulators, electrical protective devices, main and auxiliary generators, metering systems and battery support systems.
• Install and maintain electrical service equipment, wiring, and conduit required for the proper functioning of solar PV systems.
• Provide site safety and crew support including staging materials, general site work support, as well as site preparation and clean up.
• Follow safety programs and company safety policies relative to installation and maintenance of these systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plan sets, and technical drawings.
