Job summary

Ecotal is seeking a Field Service Technician with utility-scale solar experience to perform preventative maintenance and respond to corrective maintenance on PV systems. You will travel regionally from a Durham base to project sites, performing on-site inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring safety practices.

The role requires strong knowledge of DC/AC testing, MV systems, and electrical safety standards (NEC, NFPA 70E), plus a valid driver’s license and OSHA 10.

Qualifications

• 3+ years PV maintenance experience.
• Experience with DC operations and AC MV systems.
• Knowledge of NEC and standard electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E).
• Valid driver’s license and OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

• On-site maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of PV facilities.
• DC/AC testing and data collection (I-V curves, insulation tests).
• Maintain vehicle, tools, meters and stock; create service reports.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action; respond to on-call emergencies.
• Prepare operability and downtime reports; travel regionally from Durham base.
