Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Solar Farm Technician I to install, operate, maintain, and repair solar PV systems and inverters to ensure reliability and compliance. You will diagnose technical issues, analyze SCADA data, and work with engineers and vendors to minimize downtime.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise, 5+ years in renewables, and a commitment to safety. Field-based with some travel and potential weekend coverage; non-exempt, full-time, permanent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
• NABCEP Certification or Electrical License preferred
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing; 5+ years of relevant technical experience in renewable energy preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely leading solar operations and maintenance activities with site procedures, LOTO, and risk assessment.
• Provide safety leadership by identifying hazards, coaching team members, and reporting near-misses.
• Ensure EH&S compliance by interpreting regulations and correcting non-compliant conditions.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar PV systems including modules, inverters, and electrical infrastructure.
• Analyze SCADA data and measurements to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineers, OEMs, and vendors to resolve high-risk/system-level issues and minimize downtime.
• Plan preventive and corrective maintenance by prioritizing work orders and sequencing tasks.
• Lead inspections, testing, and commissioning to verify performance and adherence to specs.
• Maintain accurate CMMS entries and maintenance reports for audits and asset management.
• Mentor junior staff with hands-on instruction and safety coaching.
