Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive day-to-day on-site operations of solar PV plants. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on modules, trackers, inverters, and MV equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or a related technical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program
  • Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off or ability to obtain within onboarding
  • OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings including fuses, breakers, and BoS equipment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel ~20% plus on-call work
  • FAA Part 107 certification, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training in progress or completed

Responsibilities

  • Uphold high safety standards in all tasks
  • Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities
  • Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance
  • Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections
  • Log data and maintain service reports, safety docs, and inventory
  • Initiate warranty claims with vendors as needed
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and plant stock
  • Attend maintenance and technical writing training as assigned
