Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy in the United States seeks a Project Engineer to oversee pre-construction through closeout, coordinating with home-office engineering and outside firms to maintain quality, safety and cost-effective designs at the project site.

You will lead Field Engineers, manage RFIs, permits, schedules, and reporting, support safety and QA programs, and drive continuous process improvements across construction, commissioning and project controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree.
• 3–5 years of experience in renewables; solar experience is a plus.
• Experience working as a PE in EPC firms is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable MVR.
• Detail oriented with strong accounting and math/record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
• Ability to give presentations to groups of 10+ people.
• Involved with and understands two or more trade disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical, commissioning).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail), Adobe Acrobat/BlueBeam, P6 or other scheduling applications, Visio and engineering software applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with individuals, management of engineering firms, and adherence to processes and standards for reliable, quality, cost-effective, and safe designs.
• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Field Engineers; support trade superintendents and project reporting.
• Support safety program and QA/QC protocols.
• Coordinate design issues with Trade Superintendents and third-party engineers (EOR).
• Act as engineering liaison for construction team, client and internal resources from award through final completion.
• Manage the RFIs process and project documentation.
• Coordinate, manage and oversee permitting and As-Built records with engineering and field teams.
• Provide site cost controls, budgets, scheduling and reporting; support cash flow forecasting.
• RCA support and timely issue resolution; update engineering PPTs and calls for PV and HV sites.
• Site-based Project Controls representation: budgeting, spend reporting, trend analysis, and change orders.
