Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a General Foreman to organize and direct craft teams on a Jacksonville project. You will read blueprints, supervise foremen, enforce safety, and plan work sequences to meet the schedule with the help of skilled crews.

This role requires 5+ years of experience, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining Mortenson's safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Strong teamwork orientation and professional customer service skills.
• Detail orientation and active listening with effective communication.
• Openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and follow established procedures.
• Lifting 50 lbs. plus with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine work procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate foremen and craft workers.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Enforce safety regulations and company policies.
• Plan work sequences to meet schedules and estimate worker hours.
• Lead and coach team members and apprentices; manage performance.
• Maintain time records and resolve work problems.
• May assist with cost estimates and operate machinery.
