Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a seasoned PV O&M solar technician in the Lancaster, CA area to maintain and operate a diversified portfolio of solar assets. The role requires hands-on electrical work, troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to train and lead other field personnel.

Travel to sites and high safety standards are integral to daily duties. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of PV O&M experience, a technical degree or journeyman status, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications.
• Three or more years’ experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
• Five or more years’ experience in a power plant; PV O&M or construction experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals and control devices.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; strong safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on EPC inverters and related power equipment.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting and insulation testing.
• Operate and troubleshoot ATI trackers and software portals.
• Work independently or in crews and follow environmental/safety requirements.
• Travel to sites outside the typical area as needed; support plant operations.
