Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Manager within Private Equity Performance Improvement in Houston, TX. You will lead software product and technology due diligence engagements for PE clients, assessing features, architecture, and R&D practices to identify value opportunities.

Responsibilities include coordinating data requests, conducting analyses, and delivering client-ready findings while mentoring junior staff. Travel of up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of consulting or relevant industry experience, with at least five years focused on tech consulting, software/tech-enabled services, or product management
• Experience with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or transaction/tech due diligence (desired)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for executive-level client deliverables
• Proven ability to work with business leaders (directors and above) and private equity deal staff
• Strong quantitative and qualitative data gathering and analysis
• Willingness to travel at least 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Participate in key target and client interactions, including interviews and readouts
• Develop and manage data request lists, coordinating with bankers and the client
• Perform detailed analyses of target organizations, gathering quantitative and qualitative data
• Summarize insights into client-ready exhibits and deliverables
• Ensure deliverable quality and manage day-to-day relationships
• Supervise and mentor junior staff
