Ladders seeks a Software Engineering Technical Leader to guide the technical direction of a large-scale configuration platform supporting production environments across multiple cloud providers. You will lead architecture decisions, drive reliability improvements, and influence engineering standards for delivery, resilience, and operational excellence.

This role involves mentoring engineers, steering major technical initiatives, and reducing operational burden through thoughtful design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years.
• Fluency in Go and/or Python for building and operating large-scale production systems.
• Experience designing resilient, scalable distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or GovCloud.
• Proficiency with configuration and infrastructure as code tools like Puppet, Terraform, or Ansible at scale.
• Demonstrated ability to lead major technical initiatives and influence engineering direction beyond immediate teams.

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineering Technical Leader to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will shape the technical direction of a large-scale configuration platform that supports production environments across multiple cloud providers. The successful candidate will lead architecture decisions, drive reliability improvements, and influence engineering standards that strengthen delivery, resilience, and operational excellence.

In this position, you will partner closely with engineers and technical stakeholders to advance a platform that serves a broad customer base. You will also mentor team members, guide major technical initiatives, and help reduce operational burden through thoughtful system design.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience building and operating distributed systems, along with the ability to influence engineering direction beyond their immediate team.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $151,600 – $222,400 annually
