Role

Senior Vice President, Software Engineering Manager - AI Platform Development team

Lead and manage the AI Platform development team, driving strategy, development, and delivery of the platform supporting Blackstone’s AI/ML initiatives. Work with Lead Architect to set vision, provide technical direction, and operational oversight. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to innovate, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the platform aligns with security, risk, compliance, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the AI Platform development team, delivering shared AI/ML services, infrastructure, and tooling.
• Partner with Lead Architect to define and execute the vision for the AI Platform, Agent and Tool Support.
• Deliver standardized, self‑service platform capabilities aligned with security, risk, and compliance expectations.
• Contribute to the Platform Architecture function, defining reference architectures, standards, and guardrails.
• Partner with data, cloud, security, risk, and application teams to ensure platform alignment and control.
• Establish engineering standards for reliability, resilience, observability, and controlled change.
• Build, develop, and retain high‑performing engineering talent.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, with strong command of Python, C#, Typescript and related technologies.
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring teams of software engineers and technical professionals.
• Strong technical background in cloud‑native architectures (AWS and Azure), distributed systems, and shared services.
• Deep understanding of software development principles, architecture, and best practices.
• Demonstrated product mindset for internal platforms and developer enablement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging and influencing senior executives and business stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
• Experience in the financial services industry or related field is preferred.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected annual base salary range: $175,000 - $250,000.
