Job summary

You will provide technical direction, oversee staff development and performance, and drive software process improvements toward CMMI Level 3 or higher. A security clearance and travel up to 15% are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor\'s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 9 years of progressively responsible experience in software development across the full development lifecycle, including planning, requirements, design, implementation, and test, in support of human-rated or safety-critical systems.
• A graduate degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 7 years of related experience or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience may be considered.
• Strong technical, collaboration, and team leadership skills are required.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Responsibilities

• Technical Direct Support to Programs (60%)\u00a0Provide direct technical leadership and support to software programs across the software development lifecycle. Coordinate test support planning with cross-functional leadership as required to meet program objectives.
• Functional Management Responsibilities (20%)\u00a0Perform functional management responsibilities for software engineering personnel and work scope, including staffing, skill development, mentoring, performance evaluations, and training.
• Software Process Improvement and Organizational Maturity (20%)\u00a0Support process improvement initiatives and promote best practices and CMMI Level 3 or higher.
