Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineering Manager- Tooling to lead the Tool Engineering group at AMF. You will direct tooling design, support production, and drive continuous improvement through lean methods.

Responsibilities include coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and process teams; mentoring engineers; and ensuring tooling solutions meet program needs. Security clearance (US) is a prerequisite where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior mechanical engineering design experience; Graduate Degree or equivalent with min 4 years; in lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience.
• 1 year leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides tool engineering and tool design direction and leadership to support production and development programs.
• Develop and utilize processes that promote continuous improvement using lean manufacturing and other Operational Excellence tools.
• Works with site management, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, process areas and product work centers to provide timely tool support for operation needs.
• Provides coaching and mentoring for career development and advancement of team members.
