Job summary

RTX, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks an experienced Software Engineering Manager for the Ice, Rain & Stall (IRS) Engineering team. You will guide a group of software engineers through design, certification, and sustaining activities for multiple aerospace products, while collaborating with IPTs across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8+ years of relevant engineering leadership experience.
• Proven ability to communicate with customers, certification authorities, leadership, peers, and direct reports.
• Strong record of leading cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Experience across all product life-cycle phases from proposal through sustainment.
• Prior management of engineers in a product development setting with end-to-end responsibility.
• Familiar with software development and certification processes (DO-178C, DO-330, DO-331) and model-based development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mentor team members, manage resources, and implement processes and tools for IRS programs.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to design cost-effective solutions that meet requirements.
• Oversee all life-cycle phases from planning and development to certification and long-term support.
• Assess staffing and resource needs; ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Communicate with Value Stream stakeholders to align resources with priorities and objectives.
