We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to serve as Software Engineering Manager within the Ice, Rain & Stall (IRS) Engineering organization. IRS Engineering, a key part of the Collins Avionics Engineering organization, supports the IRS Product Value Stream and delivers a portfolio of aerospace products, including Ice Detectors, Ice Rate Sensors, Ice Protection Systems, Windshield Heater Controllers, Angle of Attack Sensors, Stall Warning/Protection Systems, and Windshield Wiper Systems. The Manager will lead a team of software engineers responsible for proposing, designing, qualifying, certifying, and sustaining these products. As part of a cross-functional integrated development team, the software engineering group supports the full product life cycle, including project planning, requirements capture and management, design, verification and validation, and long-term sustaining engineering. The ideal candidate brings strong technical experience, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and familiarity with software engineering processes, methods, and tools.
Develop and mentoring team members, managing resources, and implementing processes and tools that support IRS programs and product support activities. The manager will actively foster career development opportunities and promote a culture of growth and continuous improvement. Collaborative engagement with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure optimal, cost-effective design solutions that meet all requirements. Experience across all phases of the product life cycle from planning and development through certification and long-term support. Assessing short- and long-term resource needs, continuously monitoring project activities, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels. Clear, open communication with Value Stream stakeholders is essential to align resources with business priorities and objectives.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
