Job summary

RTX's Battle Management Software Department in Indianapolis is seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to development, testing, and integration of mission-critical embedded software for aircraft systems. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver robust software across the lifecycle, from concept to maintenance, in a secure, government-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Able to work closely in a multi-discipline team daily.
• Strong Analytical skills.
• Developing and testing software using C, C++, C#, Java or closely related software languages.
• Developing software in a Windows environment.
• Working knowledge in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python.
• Understanding of software systems design, integration, and management.
• United States Citizen as this position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• This position is for a Software Engineer I who has educational and professional experience in the development and implementation of software for mission critical applications.
• Use and provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
• Work closely with other software engineers and systems engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind.
• Support all aspects of a software development life cycle as a member of a multi-disciplined team. This includes supporting new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.
