Engineer will be part of an agile/scrum development team, creating & supporting a re-usable operating environment for automated product testing and hardware-in-the-loop simulations. Develop modular software applications which interface test equipment hardware (including prime mover controllers, loadbanks, power supplies, discrete/analog I/O and comms data networks) and integrate them into a cohesive system. Collaborate with electrical engineers on wiring, hardware configuration and test stand requirements. Develop leading-edge software tools, supercomputing clusters, and real-time software applications for Automatic Test Equipment using Object Oriented Design, scripting languages (Python, TCL & others), and the C++ programming language. Provide on-site and remote support (including debugging, operating system administration, and computer hardware build-up / teardown) to our internal customers in development labs. Develop for Linux and Windows operating systems. Generate and maintain software documentation and change requests. Review and update department processes.
Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Software Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. Experience with python scripting. Experience with configuration management experience preferred. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
