Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Wilsonville, Oregon, offers a full-time student co-op running May/June through December. You will design and develop software from functional and interface requirements, and debug flight-critical software with system integration activities in a lab or simulation environment.

You will create and maintain unit tests, develop test procedures, and verify software performance through structural coverage analysis while gaining exposure to Head-Up Displays and aerospace industry

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C, C#, Python, Perl; on-the-job experience, coursework, or projects accepted.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher (preferred).
  • Coursework in embedded systems and strong debugging skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software from functional and interface requirements.
  • Debug flight-critical software and perform system integration in a lab or simulator.

What You Will Do
  • Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June-December (including the fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
  • You will design and develop software from functional and interface requirements.
  • You will debug flight critical software and perform associated system integration activities in a laboratory or a simulation environment.
  • You will create and or maintain software component unit tests.
  • You will develop requirement-based test procedures.
  • You will verify software performance through structural coverage analysis.
  • You will execute test procedures in support of formal software verification efforts.

  • You will gain knowledge of Head-Up Displays and Camera systems.
  • You will gain knowledge of software development in aerospace industry.
  • You will learn the latest industry software development tools, practices, and processes.
Qualifications
You Must Have
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C, C#, Python, Perl.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
We Prefer Have
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Coursework in embedded system development.
  • Strong software and hardware debugging skills.

Onsite: Employees who are working in onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
