Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and operate workforce analytics software. You will build Python services, SQL transformations, and BI integrations, partnering with data and HR specialists to translate requirements into maintainable code, tests, and releases.

You will contribute to Superset datasets and support secure, scalable analytics across the organization. The role emphasizes collaboration, code reviews, and robust testing, with opportunities to influence the data stack

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years with Python or similar language and automated tests.
• 3+ years building/integrating APIs, data workflows, or production systems.
• 2+ years with SQL, BigQuery scripting and optimization.
• 2+ years with Kimball dimensional modeling concepts.
• 2+ years of Airflow/Cloud Composer and Python for ETL.
• 2+ years with cloud data platforms (GCP preferred).
• 1+ year with enterprise BI layers (Superset/Power BI/etc).
• 1+ year with Git, code review, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• 1+ year tracing data or metric discrepancies to root cause.

Responsibilities

• Develop software across Python, SQL, and workflow code.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks with stakeholders.
• Write automated tests for business logic and data contracts.
• Contribute to BigQuery transformations and data models.
• Implement workforce metric definitions in SQL and BI integrations.
• Keep security, data quality, and test coverage high.
• Maintain Airflow workflows and deployment tooling.
• Collaborate on governance, documentation, and releases.
