Job summary

PingWind, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Virginia Beach to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software supporting mission objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure software following SDLC and cybersecurity requirements.

The role covers requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance. You will work with C/C++, Python, Qt/QML, and UAV flight stacks (BetaFlight, ArduPilot, PX4), implementing sensor fusion and navigation,

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Engineering/Science Aerospace Engineering or applicable engineering or science field
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with degree
• 7 years hands-on experience without degree
• Secret clearance but TS/SCI Eligible
• Master’s Degree

Responsibilities

• Proficient in C, C++, and object-oriented software development methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver production-ready software in an Agile development environment
• Extensive knowledge of autonomous navigation and path planning
• Extensive experience with BetaFlight, ArduPilot, and PX4 flight control systems
• Experience implementing sensor fusion techniques (IMUs, GPS, Cameras, LiDAR)
• Experience using QGroundControl for mission planning, execution, and monitoring
• Experience developing GUI with Qt/QML
• Familiarity with MAVLink communication protocol for UAVs
• Proficient in Python scripting for automation
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking
• Troubleshoot complex network communication issues
• Parse and reverse engineer complex C++ and Python codebases
• Experience with CAD software
• Build, compile, and deploy software from source code
