Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Software Engineer - SRE to build and operate reliable distributed systems across store and edge computing environments. You will implement observability, improve alerting quality, respond to incidents, write automation, and contribute to reliability programs that span the organization.

We seek candidates with 2+ years in SRE/DevOps, strong coding skills in Python/Go/Bash/Java, and hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of SRE/DevOps experience on production systems
• Hands-on production software delivery in large distributed environments
• 1+ year in at least one production language: Python, Go, Bash or Java
• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Practical observability and monitoring tool experience: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker; exposure to CI/CD tooling
• Ability to operate in a transforming environment and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Build and run reliable distributed systems with observable telemetry
• Develop automation to reduce toil and improve incident response
• Tune alerts, define SLIs/SLOs, and contribute to runbooks
• Participate in incident management, postmortems, and on-call rotations
• Collaborate with development teams on instrumentation and reliability patterns
