Slate is building a direct-to-consumer EV platform in the USA, seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design, implement, and ship features across the customer journey—from discovery to ownership. Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building and shipping features in customer-facing software.
• Knowledge of web services and APIs, including testing and code review.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver features and components independently with minimal direction.
• Code and test your work and participate in code and design reviews.
• Own the quality of what you ship, including unit and functional tests.
• Solve a variety of problems creatively, weighing relevant factors and choosing sound methods.
• Collaborate with UX and product to understand customer needs and build the right thing.
• Maintain a strong understanding of your area and make good decisions within it.
• Take direction on new assignments and seek input as trade-offs grow.
• Share knowledge with teammates and help others get up to speed.
