Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Technology organization to perform end-to-end engineering tasks for system assignments, including development, testing, debugging, health monitoring, and documentation.

The role emphasizes Agile methodology, AWS, React, NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, and Postgres as core technologies, with responsibilities spanning design, development, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Three years of programming/development experience.
• Proficiency with API development.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. Postgres, MySQL).
• Hands-on experience across the cloud delivery stack: AWS, infrastructure as code such as Terraform, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions for assignments of intermediate complexity.
• Participate with team to resolve defects and incidents of intermediate complexity.
• Work within guidelines to independently tackle well-scoped problems.
• Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
