Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Software Developer to join the Computing Directorate, supporting the NARAC program. You will design, develop, deploy, and maintain software for emergency planning related to atmospheric releases.

A hybrid schedule allows up to two days remote work weekly, with SES.3 or SES.4 level responsibilities. You will collaborate with scientists, health physicists, and engineers to deliver robust desktop and web applications using modern software

Qualifications

• Active DOE Q-level clearance or Top-Secret clearance at hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent.
• Advanced experience in object-oriented programming (C++/Java).
• Advanced experience with Git or modern VCS.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and contribute to design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications.
• Collaborate across teams to align deliverables with objectives.
• Perform peer code reviews and produce technical documentation.
• Engage with sponsors and management to discuss emerging technologies and architectural improvements.
• Provide fast, creative technical solutions to complex user requests.
