Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support the CSP within ITSD. The role offers a hybrid schedule with some days remote and others onsite in Livermore, CA. You will apply Python development, scripting, and automation to strengthen incident response and vulnerability management across Linux/Windows environments.

The position requires a U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Fundamental experience developing software in Python.
• Knowledge of IT development tools including networking, databases, containers, git, CI/CD, PKI, OAuth, or Active Directory.
• Experience with Linux/Windows in server environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide software development support using Python in Linux, UNIX, or Windows environments.
• Develop scripting and automation to reduce operational overhead.
• Manage multiple parallel tasks and deadlines with the team.
• Develop methods and tools to improve incident response and vulnerability management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
