Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund is seeking a Social Services Supervisor in New York, overseeing a team of Case Managers to ensure delivery of services that promote self-sufficiency for families with children in temporary shelter. The role enforces CRF, DHS, and OTDA standards and requires coordinating housing resources and service plans.

The position emphasizes field training, performance evaluations, and collaboration with senior management to address housing, health, and employment needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in social work or related field.
• Two+ years of related experience; multi-problem families desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in CARES.
• Experience working in shelter settings with high-risk families including mental health, substance abuse, DV, child abuse/neglect.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse community providers.
• Knowledge of Case Management theories and approaches.
• Familiarity with DHS/OTDA documentation policies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; flexible under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of Case Managers to ensure services align with CRF, DHS, and OTDA standards.
• Provide field orientation and on-the-job training to Case Managers.
• Create and execute plans to meet ILP completion and placement goals.
• Ensure all mandated tasks are completed within prescribed timeframes.
• Supervise Case Managers and provide documented performance feedback.
• Conduct performance evaluations as per policies and standards.
• Collaborate to develop housing, employment, health, and social service plans.
• Meet with Senior Management for supervision and guidance.
• Assist families with housing resource identification and application processes.
• Monitor demographic reports to guide Case Managers and ensure program compliance.
• Attend and moderate Case Conferences; manage challenging clients.
• Establish linkages with community providers for housing and services.
• Assist in intake, discharge, transfers, and permanency processes.
• Complete ILPs and other case management tasks.
• Generate and distribute reports such as exit projections and case summaries.
