Job summary

Food & Friends seeks a Social Services Assistant to provide direct service to clients and assist with programmatic operations in the District of Columbia area. The role reports to the Client Services Director and involves home visits, client communication, and materials distribution.

The successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma (BA/BS preferred), one year of relevant work experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Spanish language skills a plus.
• Willingness to conduct home visits across the Washington Metro region.

Responsibilities

• conduct home visits to provide first-day meal deliveries to new clients and orient them to Food & Friends’ services
• maintain client files using the client database
• communicate with clients via phone and email to follow-up on service and respond to routine inquiries
• assist with production and distribution of client or service-related materials
