Job summary

Food & Friends in Washington, DC is seeking a Social Services Assistant to provide direct service to clients and assist with program operations. The role involves home visits, client file maintenance, and client communication to ensure ongoing support.

Onsite work is required; a valid driver’s license and a willingness to visit homes are essential. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (BA/BS preferred) and at least one year of relevant experience, plus the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Spanish language skills a plus.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and be physically mobile.
• Will ing to conduct home visits throughout the Washington Metro region.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to provide first-day meal deliveries and orient clients.
• Maintain client files using the client database.
• Communicate with clients by phone and email to follow up on service.
• Assist with production and distribution of client or service materials.
