Job summary

Apex is seeking a Cybersecurity Lead Engineer to oversee the SOC operations, ensuring proactive threat detection and rapid incident response at our Playa Vista, Los Angeles office. You will lead a team of SOC analysts and engineers, coordinate with IT and compliance, and drive security improvements in a fast-growing startup environment.

You will manage monitoring tools (SIEM, EDR/XDR), perform advanced investigations, and help achieve compliance with standards like CMMC and ISO 27001 while

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cybersecurity operations with leadership experience.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC GCIH, or Security+ are a plus.
• Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, CASB/SASE, Nessus, Burp Suite) and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a SOC team through hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Oversee threat monitoring, incident detection, triage, containment, and post-incident analysis.
• Conduct threat hunting, malware analysis, and deep-dive investigations to improve detection.
